The 100 essay questions have been reworded and are organised under common topics and essay types. IELTS often use the similar topics for their essays but change the wording of the essay question. In order to prepare well for writing task 2, you should prepare ideas for common topics and then practise applying them to the tasks given (to the essay questions).

The essay gives you an opportunity to show how e!ectively you can read and comprehend a passage and write an essay analyzing the passage. In your essay, you should demonstrate that you have read the passage carefully, present a clear and logical analysis, and use language precisely. Your essay must be written on the lines provided in your answer.
Every test is now a one-hour timed test. Historically, the exception to the one-hour time was the writing test, which was divided into a 20-minute essay question and a 40-minute multiple-choice section. The writing test was discontinued in January 2005. A student may take up to three SAT Subject Tests on any given date at a flat rate.
The new SAT essay is optional. In 50 minutes, you'll be required to read a text and write a logical, well-constructed analysis of the author's argument. The thing to remember here is that College Board is not asking you for your opinion on a topic or a text.
